According to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens are planning to move on from Justin Forsett.

Forsett was let go at the end of training camp only to resurface with Baltimore a few days later. When the Ravens cut him this time, it will likely be for good. Forsett couldn't get anything going in his three starts this year (3.2 yards per carry) and was a healthy scratch against Oakland in Week 4. With future lead back Kenneth Dixon (knee) set to return this week, Forsett is no longer needed. The soon-to-be 31-year-old shouldn't have too much trouble finding a new home, though his days of being a relevant fantasy contributor are probably over.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh was noncommittal on Justin Forsett's roster spot Monday after he was a healthy scratch in Week 4.

With Kenneth Dixon coming back to work with Terrance West and Buck Allen, Forsett is occupying a roster spot the Ravens could use on a special teamer or someone with more upside. "It's a competitive world that we're in," said Harbaugh. "It's a competitive league and a competitive sport. He knows that, as well as anybody. We just have to see. All of those personnel things are all to be determined. You can't say anything about where anything is going to go. You just don't know. We'll see how it plays out."

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Ravens are benching Justin Forsett for Sunday's Week 4 game against the Raiders.

Terrance West will draw the start while second-year back Buck Allen is expected to be active for the first time this season. Coach John Harbaugh expressed "disappointment" in the Ravens' running game last week and apparently his solution is to go younger. Fourth-round rookie Kenneth Dixon is expected to debut in Week 5 and could take over the lead role in relatively short order. Forsett has averaged just 3.2 yards per carry on 31 totes this year.
