Antonio Gates said he wants to play in 2018.

"I've still got the juice," Gates said after finishing his season with four catches for 46 yards in the Chargers' Week 17 win over the Raiders. Gates did show he has something left in the tank with six catches for 81 yards and a score against the Jets in Week 16, but that was about the only flash in a season which ended with 316 yards and three scores on 30 catches. Set to turn 38 in June, Gates is also a free agent, and it is not a given the Chargers want him back with Hunter Henry ready to take over. Still, if Gates really wants to give it another go, it would be shocking to see him playing for any other team.

Antonio Gates caught 6-of-8 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown in Week 16 against the Jets.

Both were season highs for Gates, who saw his snaps increase with Hunter Henry out. Gates got open in the end-zone on a goal-line slant in second quarter for Philip Rivers' only touchdown. He led the Chargers in receiving and should remain involved in the red-zone going forward. Gates will be one of the top streamers for Week 17 against the Raiders

ESPN's Eric Williams reports Antonio Gates should "get more opportunities."

With Hunter Henry on injured reserve, Gates will likely step up and play a bigger role. Williams went on to say Gates is "motivated to finish the season out strong" after taking a backseat to Henry for most of it. Gates is Rotoworld's No. 20 ranked tight end this week and isn't worth much more than a desperate TE2 streaming play.
