The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs believes it's "likely" the Bears release TE Dion Sims prior to March 16, when $4 million of Sims' contract becomes guaranteed.
Sims received a "three-year, $18 million" deal from the Bears last offseason that included $10 million guaranteed. He already received $6 million of that in 2017 when Sims caught just 15 balls for 180 yards and one touchdown. Sims is paid too much, even though he's one of the best end-of-the-line pass blockers at his position. He was targeted one or zero times in seven games.

Bears TE Dion Sims (illness) is active for Week 12 against the Eagles.
This was expected after he got in a full practice on Friday. Sims is not a fantasy option, but he puts a dent in second-round rookie Adam Shaheen's streaming appeal.
