Cam Newton completed just 14-of-34 passes for 180 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions while adding 11 carries for 59 yards Sunday in the Panthers' Week 17 loss to the Falcons.

Newton got off to a late start this year after a longer than expected recovery from offseason shoulder surgery. He looked rusty early on but improved as the year went on. Newton didn’t have much to work with in the receiving corps but made do with Devin Funchess and a smattering of others including Damiere Byrd, Curtis Samuel and Russell Shepard. His 16 interceptions during the regular season were his most since his rookie year in 2011. Even when Newton wasn’t filling the stat sheet as a passer he remained relevant in fantasy with his career-high 754 rushing yards, which led all quarterbacks. Newton and the 11-5 Panthers will head to New Orleans for next week’s playoff opener.

Cam Newton (shoulder) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Newton's shoulder hasn't looked right all year, but he should be fine for Sunday's game with the Packers. Newton has been held under 200 passing yards in three straight weeks.
